PSA Officials - Use of Emails

It is simply a fact that with the massive use of emails in this day and age, many email services are seeing their storage capacity affected by what is often referred to as "spam" or junk mail. Once your email address is used on a website somewhere, it can often lead to your address being used by dozens, hundreds of marketing people sending out thousands of emails trying to get you to spend money on their website. This is simply the way it is with today's use of computers and the internet.

As a result of this, various email services - including yahoo, hotmail, America Online and most business email servers - install filters in their systems to prevent what appears to be an unwanted email. All those emails can take up a lot of space and that causes problems. There can be different things that indicate an unwanted email - the senders address, links in the email, signature, etc. Depending on your email service, those emails can be put in junk, bulk, or spam folders. And in some cases, delivery can be refused and the email cannot be seen by the person to whom it was addressed.

There are some solutions to this problem. Many email services allow you to list a particular address as "OK" and it will deliver it to your regular inbox. You should be able to check the settings on your email account and find the place where you can do that. If you are receiving emails at a place of business, it may be a little more tricky, as your system administrator may need to get involved, and that may be a sensitive issue, since personal email can be something that you're not supposed to get anyway.

To help eliminate the effect of the problem, I have now added a section on the Announement section that will include all the group emails sent out with information of importance to everyone. I suggest that you check it often and if you see an email there that you have not received, let me know.

Thanks for your continued support and cooperation!
